Chester Step Test

The Chester Step Test is used by the Fire Service and other organisations, to give an estimate of physical fitness.
The subject steps on and off a 30cm step at a set rate. Every two minutes, the heartrate is measured, and the stepping rate is increased.
At the end of the test, the heartrate measurements are used to give an estimate of the subject's VO2Max, a good measure of overall fitness.
